Barry Redman is an experienced counsellor specialising in sex and porn addiction, helping individuals overcome compulsive behaviours and regain control of their lives. His journey into counselling began after personal experiences revealed the profound impact that therapy can have in healing deep emotional wounds and fostering lasting, positive change.

Initially, Barry worked as a sustainability consultant, focusing on the external environment. However, through his personal development, he was inspired to shift his professional path, returning to university to retrain and focus on the inner environment—our mental and emotional well-being. His understanding of both the internal and external worlds informs his holistic approach to therapy, believing that nurturing both is essential for overall balance and sustainability.

Barry holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Integrative Counselling and Coaching, a BACP-accredited qualification that allows him to employ a range of well-researched therapeutic approaches. This integrated framework enables clients to explore and resolve deep-seated issues, while also addressing the practical question, “Now what?” Combining counselling with coaching helps clients navigate life beyond therapy, empowering them to apply what they’ve learned in their daily lives.

As a counsellor, Barry specialises in helping those affected by sex and porn addiction, which includes partners and family members. He brings empathy, non-judgemental support, and gentle challenge to his sessions, guiding clients through the difficult but rewarding process of recovery.

Barry is a group facilitator at the Cherry Tree Therapy Centres, where he leads recovery groups and workshops. He is passionate about fostering a supportive, confidential, and safe space for his clients, whether in person at our centres in Henley-on-Thames and Buckhurst Hill or through online sessions.
